We are pleased to announce that we have expanded the hours of operation for our Heritage Village. The village is located at 575 East Bay Avenue, Barnegat, New Jersey.

Previously only open during the summer months, the village will now be open to visitors on the first Sunday of each month from October through May. Tour hours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Guests will be greeted by friendly docents who will provide tours of the society’s village. Tours are free, but donations are gratefully accepted.

The Heritage Village houses a collection of artifacts and records that detail the rich history of the village of Barnegat. The village is situated on East Bay Avenue and consists of four major buildings and three smaller structures – the Lippincott-Faulkenburg House, the Barber Shop, the Edwards House, the Butcher Shop, a corn crib, a motel cabin and a three-hole necessary. What’s interesting at the village? How about the foot pedal powered dental drill? Want to look for yourself or a relative in our collection of Barnegat High School year books? We have items from the Barnegat glass works, a display of antique children’s toys, a ship’s log, and a map detailing the travels of Barnegat’s ships in the Lippincott House. In the Edwards’ House you’ll find a display of kitchen tools from varying eras. The Butcher Shop is the home of our tribute to the local baymen.
